Divorce is a trauma which can make you feel frozen, unable to move. I know how you feel, and you aren't alone.
Angie is here to support you through this valley of fear and the unknown.
Today's episode is for those of you moms who have experienced trauma in your marriage resulting in divorce and loss.
Mother's Day is often thought of as a happy day to celebrate moms, but for many moms, the day stirs up mixed emotions of sadness and loss whether you are grieving the loss of your relationship, loss of a child, or loss of your own mother.
Through her journey Angie learned that the negative impact of divorce on young children is very common. They have a 25-30% greater chance of depression, anxiety, declining grades, drug and alcohol abuse, and self-defeating behaviors such as acting out with anger and failure to thrive. The long-term mental and emotional effects of divorce remain with children, often a minimum of two decades and even for a lifetime. And, there is hope, we can deal with and overcome this pain in ourselves and for our children.
After her painful divorce experience, Angie vowed to help as many women and children as possible to avoid what she and her daughter experienced.
