Welcome Back No-Problem Parents!
In this insightful episode, we dive deep into navigating toddler tantrums during the pandemic with our esteemed guest Cara Tyrrell, M.Ed. Explore valuable strategies and empowering insights for parents dealing with these challenging moments. Tune in to discover effective ways to transform tantrums into invaluable teaching opportunities!
Meet my guest, Cara Tyrrell, M.Ed is a Vermont based Early Childhood Educator, Collaborative Parenting Coach, and the founder of Core4Parenting™, She is the passionate mastermind behind the Collaborative Parenting Methodology™, a birth-to-five, soul and science-based framework that empowers parents to maximize their child’s early learning while raising fantastic human beings who succeed in school and life.
While teaching preschool and Kindergarten, she noticed her students knew their ABC’s and 123’s, but struggled with their social, emotional, and interpersonal skills. At drop-off, parents would say, “We’re so glad that you are their first teacher”, but she knew she wasn’t -- their parents were! This realization led to her professional pivot as an online Early Childhood Parent Educator and Coach.
Cara has embraced her role as thought leader and fierce advocate for Pandemic parents raising the COVID Generation (GEN-C).
Through keynotes, teacher training, and her podcast, Transforming the Toddler Years, she’s teaching the 5 Executive Functioning Skills kids need to navigate our ever-changing world.
Topics Covered:
The Core4Connectors for an Unbreakable Parent/Child Relationship
Mindfully Managing Toddler Meltdowns
The 5 Executive Functioning Skills Kids Need to Succeed in School & Life
Get The 12 Days of Christmas Toddler Challenge
Today Cara and Jaci talk about the difference between Conscious and Collaborative Parenting.
- What is a Parenting Mission Statement and how can we personalize it?
- And the Collaborative Parenting Methodology as a Soul and Science-based framework.

EP 200 Am I a Good Enough Parent? with special guest Bill Senyard
Tuesday Nov 28, 2023
Tuesday Nov 28, 2023
Welcome Back No-Problem Parents!
Topic:
Attachment theory suggests that our children have two subconscious questions that drive their behaviors. Q1: Is there someone out there who really has my back, who I can count on no matter what? Q2: Is there someone out there who actually loves me as I am? Ideally, parents are the answers to both of those questions.
One way or another parents can lean into becoming that person. There are baby-steps to get there.
By the time your child is 2 years old, they have already formed deeply rooted inner-working models that cause them to see relationships and the world in a certain way. These inner working models can be modified by an intentional effort by parents and caregivers--particularly during adolescence.
Questions:
What is the attachment theory? What difference does it make to parenting?
What is the importance of attunement?
I have tweens or teens now. Is there something that I can do that would change how they respond to me?
How is all of this related to the gospel?
What does the name Good Enough Parent mean?
What is the Good Enough Parent program all about? Who benefits?
Bio:
Dr. Bill Senyard is an author, speaker, and pastor of 30 years. He is a husband, parent of three, and grandparent of two—so far. Today I’m covering responses #41-50 ~
When kids are defiant, melting down, yelling at you, or crying because they are upset, want to do something they cannot do, or aren’t doing something you’ve asked them to do, it can be inconvenient, embarrassing, and exhausting. But does it have to be? Instead....
We can observe the behavior as simply that! A behavior. And behaviors pass unless we feed them by giving them too much attention which often causes the child to repeat the behavior. How we respond to our child’s behaviors can make or break our relationship with them and determine how often the child will repeat the same unwanted behavior.
No-Problem Parents™
give behavior problems only as much attention as they deserve and then life goes on. We understand that behaviors are just that—behaviors. They pass, and we don't need to give them more attention than they deserve. By responding in a matter-of-fact yet empathetic way, without sarcasm, criticism, anger, or convincing tones, we can maintain a positive relationship with our children.
Parenting is a journey with its ups and downs. These responses are your tools to handle challenging moments while maintaining a positive relationship with your child. Remember, you've got this!

Welcome Back No-Problem Parents!
Trauma-informed parenting (instead of parenting from trauma, parenting from a healed Self)
Did you know words are only 7% of our communication? The rest is our body language, voice, facial expressions, and other non-verbal means. NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming Training will not only help you understand language, but it will give you mastery so that you can manage any conversation and conflict with ease and grace. It’s not called the language of influence for nothing.
Meet Dr. Maiysha Clairborne, an Integrative Physician, Master Coach and trainer of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnosis & Time Line Therapy®, & founder of the Mind Re-Mapping Co. Through her training, Dr. Clairborne helps individuals and organizations achieve mindset & communication mastery by teaching them how to eliminate negative thinking, faulty beliefs, and ineffective behaviors so that they can be trauma responsive in their communications & interactions with others.
Dr. Maiysha’s specialty in trauma-informed communication is teaching people the power of words, and how our unconscious thoughts and beliefs have an impact on the reality we create. Her training combines the mastery of emotional and communication intelligence, teaching leaders that by mastering their language (both internal and external) they can not only be conscious but also responsible for the impact of their words, actions, and behaviors. This ultimately helps them to communicate in a way that builds bridges, creating new connections and outcomes that positively impact the people, community & organizations they serve.
Dr. Maiysha enjoys working in Corporations, Medical Systems, and educational Institutions, bringing conversations and skills of trauma responsiveness, emotional intelligence, and a growth mindset culture to these spaces. She obtained her BA in Psychology at Emory University and her doctorate of medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine. In addition to gracing the TEDx Asheville Stage in 2022, she has delivered training in arenas such as the International Conference on Physician Health, and Women in Medicine Conference, and has served as a faculty coach for the ACGME’s Equity Matters Pilot DEI Certification Program. She is the Author of the book The Wellness Blueprint, co-author of the book Conscious Anti-Racism, and host of the podcast The Black Mind Garden

Welcome back to the No Problem Parenting podcast, where we turn behavior problems into no problems! I'm your host, Jaci Finneman. Today, we're delving into responses #31-40 of the 60 ways to respond to your kids without losing your cool.
Parenting is no cakewalk, and we all face challenging moments. The key is maintaining a positive relationship while addressing these situations. Remember, you're not alone in this journey. It's natural to feel upset at times, but how you respond makes all the difference.
Dealing with Unwanted Behaviors: Kids can be defiant, meltdown, yell, or cry for various reasons. But what if we approached these situations with preparation rather than dread? Our responses can either escalate or de-escalate the situation, influencing the frequency of repeated behaviors.
No-Problem Parents™ Approach: No-Problem Parents™ give behavior problems only as much attention as they deserve. It's about responding as a leader who understands the child's emotions without getting entangled in the battle. The goal is to be empathetic, firm, and confident without letting every behavior affect the parent-child relationship.
Empathy and Understanding: These 60 responses are designed to be shared in a matter-of-fact, empathetic way. The aim is to respond as a parent who understands the child's struggles, venting, or sadness. There's no need for sarcasm, criticism, or convincing tones.
Handling Your Own Emotions: Parenting can be emotionally challenging, and it's okay to feel upset sometimes. The key is modeling appropriate behavior even when upset. The responses provide tools for expressing your emotions without hurting others or losing control.
In today's episode, we're covering responses #31-40. To access the full list of 60 responses, visit noproblemparents.com, enter your name and email, and we'll send the PDF to your inbox.
This episode is brought to you by Dr. J.J. Kelly and The Get Real Program your guide to navigating the challenges of parenting teens and young adults.
Parenting is a journey with its ups and downs. These responses are your tools to handle challenging moments while maintaining a positive relationship with your child. Remember, you've got this!
